The Race
Teams take their soapboxes to the start line and race them downhill. Fastest time wins the speed prize, but judges also score for creativity, design, and team spirit.
The Podium
Winners are crowned across multiple categories — fastest, most creative, best team spirit, and best design. Everyone gets their moment of glory on the podium.

Not at all! Soapbox Derby is designed for everyone. Our facilitators provide guidance and support throughout the build phase. The challenge is about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving — not technical expertise.
How many people can take part in Soapbox Derby?
Soapbox Derby works for groups of 20 to 500 people. Teams of 6–10 work best for the build phase, and the race finale is spectacular with multiple teams competing.
What outdoor space is needed for Soapbox Derby?
We need a suitable outdoor space with a gentle slope for the race course. We can advise on venues near you or recommend locations we've used successfully across the UK.
